What is the business model of Foursquares

HIGHLIGHTS

New business model: Foursquare becomes a location-based Lieferando.

Fousquare as a pizza broker: Foursquare now enables food orders to be placed directly in its own app. The location-based service cooperates with the restaurant chains Seamless and GrubHub in the USA. Both restaurants also deliver orders. Foursquare users can use it to access the offers of "20,000 restaurants in hundreds of cities," says Foursquare on its blog. Customers no longer even have to switch to other platforms for their order. The shops involved display their menu directly in the iOS and Android app as well as on the Foursquare website - in addition to the usual information such as location, telephone number and reviews from other users. Foursquare has also updated its maps. Through the cooperation with the maps specialist Mapbox, individual districts and sights are highlighted more precisely. The typography is to be better displayed, there is a new color scheme and the display of water and parks has been changed. Foursquare had been looking for suitable business models for a long time and was already considered a failed hype startup that cannot be profitable. With mobile forms of advertising and food orders, several sustainable sources of income now seem to have been found.
