How do you see someone's soul

The eyes are the windows to the soul

Last update: 10 September, 2016

Our eyes do not lie: they are windows to the soul. They show the truth, no matter what mask we put on, in every situation. The best way to get to know someone is to look them in the eyes and see what they reveal about their emotional state.

Our eyes, as well as our body language, give us away and say more than words could ever say. It is a fact that we convey most of the information through non-verbal language and that includes simple looks as well as any other movement that we make.

Window to the soul: a different way of seeing yourself

Many studies have shown that our eyes convey a wide range of feelingsWhen we meet someone for the first time: trust or distrust, security, satisfaction, fear, and so on. We know this because it happens every day: it's like we are able to break through our physical limits and reach their soul through their eyes.

The soul can speak through the eyes and kiss at a glance.

Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer

Some experts whose job it is to study faces have observed that Eyes are the windows to the soul because they are the most honest part of the face. In contrast to the mouth, for example, we have no control over our eyes. When you like something, your pupils dilate subconsciously and give you away. And as a sign of rejection, they contract.

The non-verbal language of our eyes

Here's an interesting list of things eyes can convey:

If your eyes take on a glow and wrinkles begin to form around them, then you are probably doing pretty well. You don't have to see someone smile to know they're happy.

When someone looks at you with open eyes and penetrating gaze, it means that they are paying attention to what you are saying and what is happening. When he's talking to you, he's paying attention to your words, and you need to focus on other non-verbal traits to see if he's judging you for better or for worse.

Through the windows to the soul we can see sadness, one of the emotions we feel most often but often try to hide. In this case, the eyelids will rise, as will the edge of the eyebrows.

When we get angry, our eyebrows curve and our expression is completely serious. Sometimes we even frown.

Uncertainty or valuation

When we listen to someone and screw our eyes shut, we are signaling that we are either judging what they are saying and that we doubt the validity of it, or we are not understanding what they are saying. Half-closed eyes can also indicate tiredness.

Sexual desire or focus

When we experience sexual desire or focus, our pupils enlarge, as mentioned before. And that completely exposes us to another person. We can't avoid this, so we usually rub our eyes because they get moist and make us feel uncomfortable.

They scare me, weaken me, it kills me to know that your beauty is not in your eyes, but in the way you look at me.

David Sant

"Social Faces"

As we discussed earlier, the phrase "the eyes are the window to the soul" is based on truth. However, it goes much further than that. According to a study by psychologists and other scientists in various fields of study of human language, in our lives, until we are around 40, we choose from a number of faces to look at adapt to different communicative situations. That would social face called. In sad moments, for example, when we feel the need to laugh, our expression retains its serenity. On this subject, Teresa Baró said that this does not mean that we are liars, because we live in a society that demands certain behavior patterns that we must maintain in order to survive.

We're not liars because we can't be. We can adjust our facial expressions and movements at will, however we cannot stop our eyes from reflecting what we are feeling.

The worst way you can deceive yourself is by not doing the things that make your eyes shine.
