How and when is Dr. Dre died

On his 51st birthday: twelve things you definitely won't find about Dr. Dre know

He shaped West Coast rap, invented G-Funk and discovered stars like Eminem and 50 Cent: This Thursday, Dr. Dre ("The Chronic", "Compton") celebrated his 51st birthday. Happy Birthday, gangsta father!

We've rounded up twelve facts you probably didn't know about the most powerful hip-hop mogul of all time:

★ Rapper Warren G ("Regulate") is his stepbrother.

★ He is considered to be the inventor of G-Funk (also known as gangsta funk or ghetto funk): slower rhythms, less aggressive, bass-heavy groove.

★ Before working with him, Dre didn't know Eminem was white.

★ Before André Romell Young (that's his real name) became a rapper, Dre was a DJ in an RnB club, where he had to play music he didn't like.

★ Dre and 2Pac didn't like each other: Although they recorded the hit "California Love" in 1996, Suge Knight, founder of Death Row Record (and Dr's former bodyguard), released the track on 2Pac's album "All Eyez on Me". It broke.

2Pac later accused Dre of a lack of loyalty to Snoop Doggy Dogg during his 1993 murder charges. Knight and 2Pac refer to Dre as "a gay man who takes years to produce a hit".

★ Dr's net worth is estimated at $ 700 million. In 2015 alone, he earned $ 33 million, according to Forbes Cash Kings.

★ Dre and Kendrick Lamar ("To Pimp a Butterfly") went to the same high school: Centennial High School in Compton, California.

★ In 1987 Dre went to jail for unpaid parking tickets. Rapper Eazy-E († 1995) bailed him out.

★ Dre became a father for the first time at the age of 17 - and didn't know about it for 20 years. It wasn't until Curtis Young turned 20 that the two first met. A DNA test provided certainty.

★ His second son, Andre Young Jr., died in 2008 at the age of 20 from a heroin and morphine overdose. He was found dead in his parents' home in Woodland, California.

★ In 2014, Dr. Dre bought the luxury villa of top model Gisele Bündchen and football player Tom Brady in Brentwood at a “bargain price”: The market price was 37 million dollars, Dre paid only 30 million euros.

★ Dr. Dre helped break out hip hop greats like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, The Game, 50 Cent, Xzibit, Jon Connor and Kendrick Lamar (who won five Grammys earlier this week).
