No, the CoronaPass is only required in the catering industry for the consumption of food or drinks in the interior of pubs or restaurants.

The following rules apply to people who do not have the CoronaPass:

  • If a person who eats in the outdoor area of ​​a restaurant has to go to the toilet, this is allowed even without a CoronaPass, of course using a mouth and nose protection and only for the time absolutely necessary.
  • If a person only has to pick up and pay for the food they have ordered, they may enter the restaurant for the time absolutely necessary and they must wear mouth and nose protection.
  • If a person wishes to order takeaway food, they may enter the establishment for the time strictly necessary to place / pick up the order and to pay, but must remain in front of the establishment while waiting.
  • A person who sits at the table in the outdoor area of ​​a restaurant is not allowed to choose or fetch food, drinks or the like inside the restaurant without a CoronaPass. The operation must take place at the table.
  • The bill should preferably be settled at the table. If this is not possible, the guest can also pay inside the restaurant, but may only stay here for the time necessary and crowds of people must be avoided.

No celebrations are allowed, only meals in compliance with the rules in the catering trade (4 people at one table - people from the same household are excluded, CoronaPass indoors, dance ban, etc.).

The curfew of 10 p.m. does not apply in the hotel. However, it is not yet possible to celebrate in the classic sense and the rules of gastronomy also apply in the hotel, regardless of the time.

Is a landlord liable if someone cannot show a CoronaPass when the security forces are checked?

Yes, the landlord is also liable. According to point 3) of the emergency measure 21/2021, someone who carries out an activity that requires the presentation of the CoronaPass must also be shown to them. Violation of the measures provided for in the regulation will be punished in accordance with Legislative Decree 19/2020 and Legislative Decree 33/2020. Thus - if a guest without a CoronaPass is found inside a restaurant - both the visitor and the innkeeper will be punished. In the event of serious or repeated violations, the operator can also close the establishment for ten days, as provided for in State Law No. 4/2020.
