In lighting applications for the presentation of goods, for example in sales facilities, at trade fairs or the like, the light color plays an essential role. The light color and the resulting color rendering are decisive for the perceived quality of products and materials. For shops that frequently change their product range, lighting with adjustable color temperature makes sense - the materials only really come into their own when they are illuminated with the right light color. While red and yellow tones are particularly emphasized by warm white light colors, for example denim fabrics or blue and green tones should rather be set in daylight white. For natural fabrics such as leather, on the other hand, warm white lighting is recommended.

Similar to the "Dim to warm" process, for Tunable white LEDs of different colors can be built into the lamp or luminaire. With an associated control in the ballast, the light color can then be set in a wide range from 6,000 K (cold white) to 2,700 K (warm white). The possibility of a flowing, stepless change in color temperature from cold white to warm white is a prerequisite for the implementation of so-called Human Centric Lighting (HCL) concepts.

Changing the light color - RGB controls
RGB controls are used for colored lighting. Red, green and blue LED modules are controlled differently via three channels so that they are dimmed with different levels of brightness in their respective colors. Through the so-called additive color mixing of the colors that overlap in their different brightness values, millions of different color tones can be generated. Depending on the programming of the RGB control devices, the colors can change slowly, barely perceptibly or in very rapid succession, so that depending on the arrangement of the LED modules, stimulating color worlds and even moving images can be created.
