Surname: Marco Kautz

Nickname: Apprentice

Position: The boss of the whole thing!

Construction year:1980 (as Any always says: retro grandpa 😛)

First computer / console (s): Atari 2600 / Commodore 64 / Amiga / Game Boy (in that order)

Your first computer / video game: Spiderman at the Atari 2600

Your favorite retro computer / video game: Nebulus (C64) / Turrican 2 (Amiga) / Starwing (SNes)

Your favorite retro computer / console (explain why): Amiga 500 (1990) simply the coolest games of its time and with great scene groups from which friendships for life formed or Amiga 4000 (1990-1994), because the games became even better and more colorful, the computer supported my creative streak and my love for electronic music more strongly emphasized. / Game Boy, because it was a technical marvel if you only knew LCD games before and simply offered the largest and coolest range of games for on the go. / Great NES because it had games that went down in history and will be talked about a hundred years from now.

I have made it my mission to use this website to capture the feeling of life and memories of a time that no longer exists today in the computer and video game world. Since 2002 I have been building this website, which contains and preserves these memories, but also offers the opportunity for interaction. A community was formed through forums, chat and later also live broadcasts and a radio, which we later even invited to the “Classic-Videogames User-Meeting”. I have a lot of fun keeping this time and I am happy when I can pass this joy on to others. This is what Classic-Videogames.de is all about.

Your favorite retro computer / video game:
There are too many: H.E.R.O. on the VCS, Super Metroid, Tomb Raider, Super Mario games, etc.

Your favorite retro computer / console (explain why): Dreamcast - When I clamped the console to a monitor using a VGA adapter for the first time, I was almost blown away by the razor-sharp graphics. In addition, it was possible for the first time on the device to play almost 1 to 1 arcade games at home at an affordable price. I don't know how many hours I've sunk in Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur, etc. I think it's really cool that new games are still being released to this day.
