Can I have a Pikachu at the beginning? Which Pokémon can I use to win in the arena? These and other questions are currently moving the world of Pokémon Go players. We have collected some answers for you.

1. Have Pikachu right at the start

This trick is a blessing for all fans of the yellow Pokémon edition. Because Pikachu - probably the best-known of all Pokémon - can be easily scooped up right at the beginning. Although "only" a squirtle, a bulbasaur and a charmander appear at the beginning of the game, if you ignore them for long enough, the beloved yellow creature suddenly appears. It's best to run away from the three starting Pokémon several times until Pikachu appears. Works in the event, is virus-approved.

2. Pokéballs can be collected again

Especially at the beginning, not everyone is a pro at throwing Pokéballs. And ... even later there will always be a mistake. Very important: Balls that do not hit their target are not lost: you can collect them again. To do this, simply pull the ball back towards you. In other words: The same movement as when throwing - simply the other way around. Note: We are no longer quite sure whether it really works. Anyone who can confirm or deny it to us with certainty - no matter how happy!

3. Develop Eevee as desired

Eevee is a very popular Pokémon. You can develop it further in Flamara, Blitza or Aquana. So far it has been assumed that the development happens randomly. But now a player seems to have figured out how to influence further development. You have to rename your Eevee to:

  • Sparky = Blitza
  • Rainer = Aquana or
  • Pyro = Flamara

You can read why this is so here, the link opens in a new window. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to confirm this for the German-language app. You already Tell us about your experience in a comment.

4. Fighting in the arena made easy

The first time you go to an arena to fight, there is a high probability that all of your Pokémon will be Knocked Out (don't worry, they can be healed later). With these tricks you will last a lot longer.

  • Stronger attacks: There is a blue bar below your life bar. If you have tapped the opposing Pokémon long enough (= attack), it will fill up. Then you can press your opponent's Pokémon a little longer and BÄÄÄM special attack.
  • Evasion: You can evade enemy attacks. To do this, you simply have to swipe the fighting Pokémon back and forth.
  • Bonus: Choose your Pokémon carefully. Because you cannot fight your opponent effectively with everyone. Depending on the type of Pokémon, it is more susceptible to attacks from specific types of Pokémon (water, fire, rocks, etc.) Here is a list (white = attacking Pokémon):

5. Don't waste time on Pokéstops

With Pokéstops, you don't always have to collect all of the items that you get individually. You can easily close the Pokéstop and still collect everything. This is essential, especially on bus and tram journeys, as you can quickly move away from the stops and approach new ones.

Unfortunately, thrown Pokéballs can no longer be collected. Point 2 is wrong. And at point 5 it would be helpful to state that the type in green is the defending type and in white the attacking type. http://www.pokewiki.de/Typen

The Eevee trick worked for me with Blitza, try it out with a Flamara.
