management

This standard textbook of German management theory gives a comprehensive and easily understandable overview of the complex field of management. It answers questions like: What is management? What tasks and functions does good management have to fulfill? What approaches, methods and instruments are there and how do they relate to one another? What are the newer developments?

The tried and tested argumentative and didactic structure of the textbook was retained. The authors attach great importance to a realistic and practical presentation. Information boxes on current company developments, discussion questions on the chapter contents and a large number of clear illustrations make it easier to grasp the subject matter. The case studies at the end of each chapter and the questions about the case studies are also very valuable for classifying what has been learned.

For the 8th edition, all chapters have been carefully revised and provided with short summaries. Current developments and a number of new management topics such as agility, the pay transparency law, gender pay gap, strategizing, passion, relational and proactive forms of work design and paradox management have been integrated. In addition, short instructional videos are now available on central approaches and models in the book.

The book “Management” is suitable both as a study-related reading as well as for self-study and also provides valuable support in analyzing and solving practical management problems.
