Which is better Apple or Microsoft 1

Notebook & PC

Nine out of ten computers are Windows PCs. Microsoft’s market leadership ensures that many people don’t even ask themselves about a PC or Mac. Anyone who deals with it inevitably looks for the advantages and disadvantages of the PC and the Apple Mac. First of all, in this article we will go into the reasons that speak for the Windows PC. In the second part you will find the advantages of a Mac. First of all: At the end of the day, you have to make a final decision yourself - it always depends on the demands and needs you have on your new computer system.

Per PC

1. Versatility: You can buy everything: portable Windows smartphones that fit in your pocket or luxury computers with high-tech equipment and 21-inch monitors. There are PCs for hardcore gamers, for occasional surfers and for typ-lazy people. In short: you will find something for every application at your trusted dealer. Apple, on the other hand, offers nine to eleven different models, depending on the counting method, not including mobile devices such as iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

  1. Apple II
The Apple II is the first personal computer designed for the mainstream in 1977 and succeeds the Apple I kit computer. Steve Wozniak is responsible for the design of the Apple II. The Apple II teaches a whole generation the basics of programming and defines the term personal computer. At the same time, the product makes it clear that Apple is to be expected. The Apple II will be produced until 1993.
  2. macintosh
When Apple introduced the Mac in 1984, nobody expected one of the longest-lasting products in the Apple portfolio to be born. Around 30 years ago, the original Macintosh was the first mainstream computer with a graphical user interface and a mouse as an input device.
  3. iPod
Immediately after its release in 2001, the iPod will become the new standard that all players in the digital music industry follow. Not that bad for a newcomer. The combination of iPod and the digital music store iTunes makes buying music easier than ever before. This is how Apple succeeds in leaving the competition - for example Sony - far behind from a standing start. The popularity of the iPod also lays the foundation for future success.
  4. iPhone
The immense importance of the iPhone for the tech industry cannot be denied. Ultimately, the Apple smartphone revolutionized the cell phone market fundamentally and almost overnight. The iPhone also ensures that the web is mobile. The resounding success of the iPhone makes it the most important and best-selling Apple product of all time.
  5. Mac OS X
The establishment of OS X in 2001 marked a significant turning point for Mac users. The operating system lays the foundation for 15 years of software development work. Annual software updates should keep the Mac always "up to date" and above all ahead of the competition. The principle of free software updates is established with OS X.
  6. Power Mac G4 Cube
"Appearance is not everything" - thought the buyers of the Power Mac G4 Cube. When the computer hit the market in July 2000 for around $ 1,800, Apple had high hopes for the device. Only a year later, reality catches up with the company: The Mac G4 Cube is being discontinued due to insufficient sales. Apart from its technical features and the very limited upgrade options, the G4 is primarily a talking point for its cracks in the case.
  7. eWorld
Before the Internet becomes a global phenomenon, there are only a handful of online services. One of them comes from Apple, bears the name eWorld and in June 1994 offered its users e-mail services, for example. The Cupertino-based company is thus competing with giants such as AOL, Microsoft and CompuServe. Nevertheless, around 100,000 subscribers can be acquired before the curtain falls on eWorld in 1996. The users will be passed on to AOL after the end.
  8. Newton
Sometimes you're just too far ahead of your time. It is the same with the Newton. It was an early version of a PDA that pioneered handwriting recognition. But that's the only advantage: a weak battery and a price that is far too high make the device quickly disappear again.

2nd prize: If you believe Microsoft's marketing slogans, Windows computers are inherently economical, inexpensive and therefore very economical - a plus point for companies as well as private users, especially in difficult times. According to the statements from Redmond, Mac fans paid a painful "Apple tax" that can only be explained with the greed for profit of the jobs empire.

That is simply a lie - if you buy even a new Windows license for a computer, you will usually pay more than you would with a Mac. So where did this misconception come from? Quite simply: Windows PCs are available in all designs, from inexpensive to very expensive. As a matter of principle, Apple saves itself the lowest price segments and only offers systems for the middle and luxury class. If you are looking for a simple computer that does not cost a lot, you will of course use a Windows PC. If only the price plays a role, the PC is unquestionably recommended.

3. Software selection: Thanks to the many hobby developers, there is every software for Windows systems: from the database for stamp collectors to the managing solution for the pet shop. Many applications are available for free on the web, some cost a small license fee as long as they are only used privately. Users only have to dig deep into their pockets for the really complex programs for business needs. Because of the relatively low market penetration, there are only a few third-party applications for Apple computers, especially in specialist areas, and the existing ones are often not fully developed.
