How do accelerator tanning lotions work
How do you choose the right sunscreen?
Before you start choosing your sunscreen, it is important to know how you will be sunbathing. Every type of sunbathing needs the right sunscreen. You need an SPF in the outside sun. LSF stands for sun protection factor. In the rest of the text we use the abbreviation LSF. This protects you from the sun's harmful UVA and UVB rays and ensures that your skin does not burn. For optimal protection, rub 35 ml (6 teaspoons) of sunscreen into your skin. Repeat every 2 hours or after swimming, sweating, or drying off.
When sunbathing under the tanning bed, it is better not to use an SPF product. If you use an SPF product, you won't get a tan. The combination of the short time under the tanning bed and the protection factor blocks the radiation that normally ensures the tan. It's like standing in the shower with an umbrella. It has no effect. That is a waste of your tanning session.

You go into the outside sun. As you know, you need a protection factor. Australian Gold offers different factors from a factor of 6 up to and including factor 50 in different variations. The Australian Gold sun protection creams are waterproof, block UVA and UVB and contain olive oil, aloe vera, vitamin E, sunflower seed extracts, Z-Cote and provitamin B5. Excellent skin care against sun, salt and wind. All products are PABA, paraben and alcohol free.
SPF products with or without bronzer
Do you want to get a quick tan in the sun? Then choose a product with bronzer. These products (spray gels or lotions) contain a powerful, natural Kona Coffee or caramel bronzer. This strengthens the skin's natural tanning process. There is absolutely no need to worry about using a product with bronzer because they are high quality bronzers! No streaks or stains! These bronzers are only activated by the sun and color the skin very naturally. Australian Gold is known for its beautiful and natural bronzers.

The combination of the original Australian ingredients, Kakadu Plum, eucalyptus and red algae provides the skin with important nutrients. Powerful natural ingredients such as vitamin C, iron and folic acid also promote well-groomed and hydrated skin.

If you are about to go on vacation and will be traveling a lot, these Australian Gold SPF sticks are ideal. Due to their small size, they easily fit in your pocket and you can take them with you anywhere. Sensitive areas such as cheeks, ears, lips and nose can also be creamed with these sticks and the likelihood of burns is reduced. Don't forget the sticks when you go on a ski vacation. Despite the cold temperatures, protection is particularly important in this situation. The snow reflects the sun's rays, so your skin gets more solar radiation than you would initially think. Australian Gold has also developed an SPF 50 tattoo stick that protects your tattoos particularly well and quickly. This is how you preserve the colors of your tattoos.

Oils without SPF
Oils without SPF are oils specially developed for the outdoor sun. With these oils you get an even better tanning result. They do not contain a protection factor. We recommend using it in combination with an SPF product. So you have the best of both, a nice quick tan and good protection in the outside sun. You first apply the product without SPF, allow it to be absorbed well and then rub yourself in with a generous amount of SPF. For best results, repeat every 2 hours or after swimming, sweating, or drying off.
You can find the oils without SPF on this page.

The foundation of all Australian Gold lotions is that they take care of your skin for an optimal tan. After all, well-cared for skin tans many times better than dry skin. Dry skin reflects the radiation that makes you tan. Well-cared for skin receives UV radiation better and ensures that the tanning process is activated more quickly. We have different categories of skin care, from good basic care to care that takes care of your skin down to the last detail. You will achieve a better end result with the last category than with a basic supply. The categories are (from basic to the best care you could ask for):
1. Iconic Products
2. Better + Products
3. Excellent Products
4. Ultra Products
5. Superior Products
These categories say something about skin care in the tanning lotion, but you have different options in these categories as well. That has to do with the different bronzers. You have bronzer-free, natural bronzer, or delayed (DHA) bronzer tanning lotions. Below we explain the difference between the three.
An intensifier, also called an accelerator, is a tanning lotion without a bronzer. These lotions do not have bronzers but work by increasing the natural tan of the skin. The skin care in the tanning lotion ensures that your skin is nourished and receives more UV radiation. The special tanning-accelerating ingredients ensure that the tanning process runs faster.
A tanning lotion with natural, instant bronzes
Natural, direct bronzers are super fast bronzers that will instantly give your skin an instant dark tan. You are only active when you are lying under the tanning bed. Once you stop receiving UV rays, the color will stop developing. The tanned color you see is the one you have. This lasts about 2 days. Tip: wash your hands after application.
A tanning lotion with delayed (DHA) bronzers
Delayed (DHA) bronzers are bold bronzers that have reached their darkest color after 8 to 24 hours. These stay active even after you have tanned and ensure that the color continues to develop until you go into the shower. This lasts for about 4 to 8 days. Tip: wash your hands after application.
For beginners, we recommend starting with an intensifier or a natural, direct bronzer. Once you've built up a basic tan, you can sunbathe with a delayed (DHA) bronzer tanning lotion.
